Case Study: How Shopify Launched this Art Startup into Success

Founded earlier this year, ARTPIQ is an exciting new business venture which offers young and talented artists the chance to kick-start their artistic careers by crowdfunding capital for their artworks online.

Read on to find out how Swanky made its founders’ dreams a reality by providing them with an exquisitely designed online platform on which to showcase the works of up-and-coming artists.

When ARTPIQ first began their journey to launching online, they had a creative and unique idea, a strong business plan and an abundance of passion and enthusiasm. However, without years of ecommerce experience and technical expertise, they weren’t sure how to go about designing and building a fully functional website which would perfectly represent and promote their brand.

ARTPIQ therefore decided to seek professional help in creating a truly compelling website design that would bring their brand idea to life. Although they met with agencies all the way from London to Düsseldorf, they found that there was always something missing. Most of the designs they encountered were not quite the right fit for ARTPIQ’s aesthetic and were also generally very overpriced.

When they discovered our agency, however, something clicked for CEO Katharina Wenzel-Vollenbroich. ARTPIQ instantly got on well with our team and were also extremely impressed by our unique, high-quality and beautiful website designs.

We quickly got to creating a beautiful custom Shopify design for ARTPIQ, which not only reflected the striking and original aesthetic of the artists’ masterpieces, but was also strong from a user perspective.

Knowing the importance of having a website which is fast, fully responsive, eye-catching and easy to navigate, we crafted the perfect layout to attract and engage ARTPIQ’s target audience of artistic investors and ultimately to boost the store’s conversion rate (the percentage of visitors investing in the listed artworks).

Months after the launch of ARTPIQ’s new Shopify website, Katharina still loves the design of her store, and continues to appreciate how helpful our team were – and still are – when it came to answering all of her ecommerce and Shopify-related questions.

According to Katharina, everyone she shows the new website to is “completely amazed by how beautiful it looks and how well it functions.”

And ARTPIQ’s future is looking bright. With their beautiful new website in place, ARTPIQ are looking to increase their traffic even further and to build their name in the online artistic market. Their current target is to sell between 20 and 30 works per month. Given the high value of their average order prices, this is an ambitious goal, but one which we are confident they will achieve with their stunning and fully functional new online branding.
