Being part of the city community here in Exeter is important to us, not just on a professional, client base building level, but also for creating a productive, informative and generous environment that everybody and anybody in our city can benefit from.
Exeter YMCA are the forerunners in re-integrating ex-prisoners into the local community, lowering unemployment and providing housing for those in need. They came to us looking for a website to advertise their new gap year scheme (Ten10) which seeks to increase youth involvement in their charitable work. We recognised the positive impact they have on our community and decided to donate our services.
It’s been my privilege to design a WordPress site including 4 basic pages for them to use free of charge. You can check it out here: www.ten-10.org.uk and follow their progress on Twitter @ExeterYMCATen10
I began working for SwankyApple in a purely design role, so it’s been hugely helpful for me in getting to grips with html, css3 and php. I’ve been thrown in at the deep end, out of my comfort zone, but massively benefited from seeing more of the ‘behind the scenes’ magic that goes into turning my designs into reality. That’s something we highly value here at SwankyApple, training and developing our people so that we can provide you with a better, more efficient service.
It’s an exciting project to have been a part of. We’ve just made a lasting contribution to our community and improved our company at the same time.
